FAQs about Systemex Aluminium Recolouring

What parts of the building do you paint?

We paint the exterior and interior of aluminium windows and doors. We also paint garage doors, guttering, pool fences and baluster hand rails to give you a seamless look.

How good is the finish?

Our paint finish is so good aluminium window joinery manufacturers ask us to touch up the powder coating on new windows damaged during construction. Leading architects also trust us, engaging us to work on their most prestigious and difficult commercial and residential refurbishment projects.

What sort of paint do you use?

The sort they use on aircraft. It's expensive, highly durable, industrial quality and looks great.

How do you apply it?

The paint is applied using specialist spray painting equipment by highly skilled operators.   No expense is spared--the nozzles are replaced frequently to ensure a top quality finish.

Are there any brush marks?

No, because we don't use brushes.

How do you stop paint getting on surrounding surfaces?

We painstakingly mask the windows and surrounds and use drop cloths to protect other surfaces. We are also very careful about the conditions in which we paint.

Is there a guarantee?

Absolutely, we guarantee our workmanship for five years.

Is it better to paint or replace windows?

Although painting your aluminium windows saves a lot of time and money and gives you more colour choice, sometimes replacement is a better option. For example, if your windows are badly corroded, the glass is in poor condition or the rubbers are brittle and perishing.

My aluminium windows are not working properly. Can you fix them?

Sorry, we do not overhaul aluminium window joinery. We suggest you contact a joinery company for repairs or replacement parts.

Do you touch up scratches and marks on aluminium windows?

Sorry, we only repaint entire window aluminium frames.

Will you repaint just a few windows, not the whole house?

Yes, we can paint as many windows as you like, for example, to match old window joinery colours to new joinery in an extension.  However it is generally not cost effective to paint just one or two windows because of the set up costs involved.

Do you fix DIY aluminium window painting disasters?

If possible, yes. But it costs more because of the time it takes to fix a poor quality paint job.

What happens if the new paint gets scratched?

We always leave a sample bottle of the paint at the end of the job. Using a small artist's brush and the paint, you can easily touch up any scratches.

How reliable is your service?

Each job is planned and entered into a schedule. When you entrust us to paint your aluminium window joinery we will start your job on the allotted date and stay there until it is finished, weather permitting.

Can you colour match?

Yes, we can meet the exact colour specifications you supply.  If you don't know exactly what colour you require, we will do our best to get the closest match possible.

What kind of finish can I have?

You can have any finish you like--gloss, semi gloss, matt or metallic.

What colour can I have?

Any colour you like, not just the limited range of powder coat colours.

Can you just paint the inside of my aluminium window joinery?

Yes.

How long has Systemex been in business?

Systemex was established in 1994. The current owner Mike Smyth has been owned the business since 1997.

What are your terms of trade?

Payment is on completion of the job to your satisfaction or within seven days.

Can you give me a free estimate of what painting my joinery would cost?

Yes, please fill in the estimate form or call us.

Do you offer a nationwide service?

Yes, we recolour aluminium window joinery all over New Zealand. Obviously the weather conditions are important so we schedule jobs depending on the time of the year.

Is finance available?

We have a relationship with New Zealand Mortgage Finance. At no cost to you, a broker can discuss finance options with you.

Systemex sounds like my kind of business. Are there opportunities to get involved?

Yes, Systemex is expanding. Please contact us if you like working outside using your hands, have an excellent attention to detail, like people and expect to be well rewarded for a job well done.
